Con esta noticia en inglés se daba a conocer los primeros datos sobre el nuevo resort de Universal Studios Theme Parks en el macrocomplejo de Dubailand, en Dubai como bien indica el nombre y que abrirÃa sus puertas en el año 2010, pero que por culpa de la crisis, dicho proyecto se retrasa hasta el año 2012.Dubai Online escribió:Universal expands theme park kingdom to Dubai
Universal Parks & Resorts said Monday it will develop a 6.5 million-square-foot theme park as part of Dubailand, an expansive 22 million-square-foot development in Dubai, which is part of the United Arab Emirates.
The park will contain four zones including a Hollywood, Metropolis and Adventure zone. Reports indicate it will cost $2.2 billion, open in 2010 and attract 5 million visitors a year.
The park, Universal Studios Dubailand, is in addition to more than 4,000 hotel rooms and 100 restaurants, as well as an integrated area of commercial office space and a residential area, according to Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and the vice president of the UAE, prime minister and ruler of Dubai.
Universal operates theme parks in Los Angeles, Orlando, Fla., and Japan and has licensing agreements with existing parks in development in Singapore

Nada más es mencionazo o adherido a través de visuales acerca de atracciones en este área.
New York será otra área fuertemente tematizada, a diferencia del área del parque de Florida. El artwork muestra un pequeño Blues Brothers stage area construido dentro de uno de los edificios de ladrillo marron. También se menciona zonas de paseo alrededor de Gramercy Park Square el cual tendrá aire acondicionado bajo una cúpula protectora. En el corazón del área encontraremos el Broadway Rose Theater el cual representará “Hooray for Bollywoodâ€. Si, tu has leido bien… un clásico de Bollywood lleno de números musicales y bailarines.
Legendary Heroes será el hogar de Revenge of the Mummy una mezcla entre indoor roller coaster y dark ride. También habrá una atracción de algún tipo tematizada en Sinbad descrita de la forma siguiente, “embárcate en un viaje con el Capitán Sinbad, el más atrevido a través de sus travesÃas por los siete mares. Introduzcase en el santuario de un misterioso templo subterráneo, que desencadena la furia de un gigante de piedra esculpida en medio de una lluvia de fuego y explosiones de agua.†Según parece, este área será similar a Lost Continent de IOA donde se hará una mezcla con nuevas atracciones como The Mummy Ride y una nueva versión, según las descripciones, de Poseidon’s Fury tematizada en Sinbad, también incluirá un mercado-bazaar de comerciantes a través del cual los visitantes se moverán a través del pueblo de “Soukâ€. Todo esto mezclado con un gran templo tematizado y el oasis del Rey Tot, una gran zona exterior de juegos de agua.
Epic Adventures será el hogar de King Kong, Jurassic Park y Waterworld. La guÃa confirma que Kong y Skull Island serán la temática de la gran Dueling Coaster. “Llegado a velocidades superiores a 100 km/h conseguirás escapar de Skull Island, King Kong lanza a los visitantes hacia los otros en cada una de las dos invertided coasters, entrecruzándose los recorridos quedándose a centÃmetros de colisionarâ€. Si, parece que quieren recrear Dueling Dragons (posiblemente con un nuevo recorrido) y enviar a los huespedes a una gran kongfrontación. Según parece, estará tematizada en la última versión de King Kong de Peter Jackson. Llama la atención un gran arco que se puede ver en varios artworks y el cual no se sabe cual será su función, si un gran área cubierta con aire acondicionado o una nueva atracción.
Surf City, un área infantil que tendrá la Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster. También encontraremos un tiovivo tematizado en un castillo de arena en el cual podrá montar en “juguetes hinchables†a modo de los tÃpicos caballitos, en el que promete ser uno de lo más grandes tiovivos de la tierra. Forma parte de un viaje a través de la costa gracias a Frantic Freeway, en la cual podrás conducir uno de los seis coches de tematización única alrededor del puerto, pasando una funhouse, con la sensación de estar volando por un puente.
Destacar de este proyecto el acuerdo reciente que han llegado con Sesame Street para crear varias atracciones sobre Barrio Sesamo como el cine 4D nombrado arriba, un carrousel asi como un espectáculo con las mascotas:
